RSS Feeds (Subscriptions)
If you don't have a newsreader, download one, like
FeedDemon (Windows) or
NetNewsWire (Mac).
To subscribe to a feed, click on the RSS icon or its associated link.
Support for feed subscription varies wildly by browser.
IE 6 has no support. Clicking on a feed results
in a display of the encoded contents of the feed
(XML, technically). You must open your newsreader application, initiate it's subscribe action, and, at the appropriate place, cut and
paste the URL (the text in the browser's address box beginning with http://) into the subscribe dialogue.
IE 7 is better, you end up in a dialog where you can either use iGoogle or IE's newsreader. Or you can cut and paste as above if you prefer a different reader.
Firefox 3 makes feed subscription very easy. Just click on the feed (no pasting necessary).
In fact, when a feed is available on a page,
the feed icon is visible in the address bar, just click it to subscribe:
Firefox offers a selection of readers. You can add your favorite to its list. You can choose a default and clicking on a feed takes you directly to that reader's subscription dialog.

Email Notifications for Events
Email notifications can be set up to email you in advance of an event. To set this up:

go to Google Calendar

sign in to or create your Google account (you already have one if you use any of Google's services, e.g., gmail)

go to Other Calendars
on the left hand side, search for 'google@poudrepaddlers.org' and add the calendar (screenshot)

use the dropdown and select Notifications (screenshot)
